The battle for survival continues within the Botswana Karate Association (BOKA) inner cycle and the latest victim to be kicked out is the Botswana Goju Kai Federation.

According to a letter written by BOKA vice secretary, Francois Alberts yesterday, as of March 31, 2023, Goju Kai Federation had not remitted its annual membership fee for the year 2023-2024, as prescribed in the BOKA constitution. “(According to) Article 5 of the constitution, the federation is automatically suspended.

As per article five sub-article six, Goju Kai Federation had the opportunity to restore their membership status to ‘active’ by remitting their annual membership together with a penalty before June 30,” the letter reads. Alberts further said through the letter that, according to the records, Goju Kai had not settled their account when the letter was authored.
