We call on the government and Batswana at large to support their very own not only when they bring good results. We should support them in good and bad times to keep them going. Parents who have young children should take notes and encourage the younger ones to start (sport) at a tender age. It can also help in reducing the number of children who end up being involved in criminal activities. For those who have been criticising Isaac Makwala on social media, I think we are moving in the wrong direction. Makwala has done his best looking at his age. He has done the best he could do for us, so let's do away with the negativity and celebrate our heroes.

Our boys have done us proud as Batswana. I think they are not only representing Botswana but Africa as a whole. We should protect them and make sure we avail all the support they need. Their performance is clear evidence that Botswana has massive talent in athletics as such the government should take school sport very seriously as most of the talent is perfectly identified at an early age. We wish to see a huge celebration for our brothers because they made history by bringing a gold medal.

It makes us proud to see the younger generation doing their best. We have come a long way doing well in athletics so we deserve this win and looking at the fact that the Paris 2024 Olympics are around the corner, gives us even more hope. We will do our best to give our team all the support they need and we hope the government as well will continue helping and supporting them so that they keep bringing more gold medals. I personally don’t like it when Batswana attack Isaac Makwala because just like any other athlete, he has contributed to the team. The coach had trust in him, that is why he was chosen to be amongst the team. Also, Batswana should not forget that Makwala has been doing this for a very long time so he was also there to give the younger ones motivation.
Over the past weekend in Greater Gaborone, four people tragically lost their lives in separate accidents, a stark reminder of how vulnerable we are on the roads, especially during this busy time of year. The accidents, which claimed the lives of three pedestrians and one driver, paint a grim picture of the dangers faced by everyone on the road, not just motorists but also pedestrians. In one case, a young man was fatally struck by a truck whilst...
