The outcomes of the midweek matches in the Debswana First Division South League (DFDSL) have significantly altered the league landscape, introducing a sense of unpredictability ahead of the tantalising Week 10 fixtures this weekend.

Jwaneng Young Stars, who have demonstrated remarkable form throughout the league, amassing 19 points from nine games, encountered an unexpected setback as they succumbed to a surprising 1-0 defeat against Mochudi Centre Chiefs.

Young Stars’ loss against Magosi helped URI Black Forest narrow the gap to three points after their win on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Magosi’s win helped the side leapfrog to the top four bracket teams on the log standings. Extension Gunners also returned to winning ways after a string of unpleasant results in the last few weeks.

The Peleng giants annihilated Prisons XI by four goals to nil. The win helped Gunners move to position five. Heading into the Week 10 fixtures, Young Stars will be looking to rejuvenate themselves and return to winning ways after their second campaign defeat when they take on limping Mogoditshane Fighters.

The win against Fighters would help Young Stars head into the festive break as the log leaders. Black Forest will also look to continue with their impressive start when they take on Tlokweng United. Magoleng, as Black Forest are affectionately called by their supporters, will be on a mission to come out tops against United so that the gap is not augmented.

Centre Chiefs on the other side will set their eyes on getting three successive wins when they take on Prisons XI at the SSG Ground. A mammoth clash is expected between Union Flamengo Santos and Gunners. Santos will be aiming to keep their title hopes alive while the Peleng giants will look to continue with their winning ways. In other fixtures, regressing Notwane will be on a trip to Kgalagadi District to take on Desert Nxau at the Tsabong VDC ground. Rookies UB Hawks will be welcoming City Polar to the SSG Grounds on Sunday.
