Former Zebras coach, Peter Butler who is in the country, has denied reports he is on the verge of joining reigning league champions, Gaborone United.

Butler told Mmegi Sport this morning that he is in Gaborone on vacation. "It is not true (that I am joining GU), I am here to see this beautiful country and its people," he said.

The links with GU come at a time when the team has surrendered the top spot to Jwaneng Galaxy and has lost some ground in the title chase. GU director, Nicholas Zakhem also dismissed reports linking Butler with the red side of Gaborone.

"Butler is in the country on his own accord, doing a safari. Besides that, I’ve no idea what are his intentions. Remember he is an old friend of mine. Add to that, I’m very happy with the coaching staff we have and I will continue the journey with them," Zakhem said.
