Serbian coach, Nikola Kavazovic is in line to make his debut as his new side, Sua Flamingoes welcome Township Rollers in a Botswana Premier League (BPL) match tomorrow.

Kavazovic was appointed the team’s head coach on a two-year contract at the start of the year. It will be an emotional meeting as Kavazovic enjoys iconic status at Popa, the record league champions.

In his first of the two stints with Rollers, Kavazovic won every competition on offer while he guided Rollers to the CAF Champions League group stages. Popa were the first local team to achieve the feat.

But at the Sowa Town Council Stadium tomorrow, both sides would feel that they are on par. They have met twice in the BPL and both games ended in draws. Popa have had a mixed run of results as they are on the fourth spot, five points behind leaders, Gaborone United (GU).The host have, however, lost their last two games as they sit 11th on the log.

Speaking to Mmegi Sport on Wednesday, Flamingoes’ public relations officer, Lazarus Mafa said Kavazovic could get his work permit ‘any time now’. “We have appointed Nikola, he is our coach.

He has joined on a contract; duration is two years. We have cleared him at BFA (Botswana Football Association). What remains is the work permit; he might get it any time now. It is a 50/50 chance that he will be in for our weekend game against Rollers,” Mafa said.

The Popa technical bench will also have a new face after the club announced on Thursday, that new head coach Sergio Daniel Traguil had received his work permit. The Portuguese was announced as the team's head coach on New Year's eve.

He replaces club legend, Thabo Motang who was relieved off his duties after a string of poor results Meanwhile, GU will look to stretch their unbeaten run as they visit Morupule Wanderers at the Serowe Sports Complex. Masitaoka and Nico United will square off at the Molepolole Sports Complex while Prisons XI take on Mogoditshane Fighters at the Otse Stadium.

Extension Gunners will travel to the Galaxy Stadium where unbeaten Jwaneng Galaxy lie waiting. The Lobatse Sports Complex will host a tie between Security Systems and BDF XI.

On Sunday afternoon, Eleven Angels take on Police XI at the Obed Itani Chilume Stadium while Holy Ghost welcome Orapa United at the Molepolole Sports Complex. All the games will kick off at 4pm with the exception of televised fixtures that start at 3.30pm.
