That was in a Debswana First Division South league game played at the Gabane United Grounds on Saturday. The gaffer was agitated to a point that he even called out Ntwaetsile’s error to be the downfall of Gunners over the weekend.
He also said the Peleng giants could have gone home with atleast a draw. “Ntwaetsile cost us three points. As an experienced player to do such a thing! Give away to a striker to score? Even my grandmother could have scored that goal.
You cannot do that. Even the chance he missed, one could have easily scored that,” a furious Mwaanga said. The agitated Mwaanga reiterated that he was left disappointed by the player's display, which led to him taking Ntwaetsile off immediately.
“Ntwaetsile’s mistake really affected me in a bad way, I want to be honest,” he said. Ntwaetsile nicknamed ‘Mzala’ made a blunder at the back, which handed Santos the winning goal. The experienced midfielder tried to put in a back pass to his goalkeeper but instead passed it to the Santos striker, Kenamile Mokgweetsi who made no mistake. The Peleng giants had a chance to break the deadlock early in the game but Kabo Matshula failed to convert a free header.
On the 24th minute, Gunners were saved by the upright as Santos completely penetrated their defence and winger Tumelo Thebe was denied by the upright. Coming from the half time break, Gunners’ keeper, Koolopile Tshimologo was called to task and he made a brilliant save off the line to deny Marumo Thuso’s towering header.
Thuso got close yet again to break the deadlock, but this time around he was denied by the woodwork. Gunners came to the party and Ntwaetsile missed an open goal with Santos goalkeeper, Matshwenyego Koobonye down after making a save. But Ntwaetsile hit it straight at the lying keeper. With eight minutes left on the clock defender Bushe Gunda made a brilliant block on the line to deny Gunners.
