Gaborone United (GU) coach, Pontsho ‘Piro’ Moloi has explained the omission of rising starlet Omphile Ramogapi from the starting line-up.

Ramogapi, who is turning into a fan favourite, is not yet a regular starter in Moloi's first 11. The youngster stole the hearts of GU fans as he was brought into the game after the break during the weekend's league encounter against Masitaoka. He breathed life into the Reds' play after a lacklustre first half. Ramogapi created most of the chances for his side after his introduction and was rewarded with an assist after setting up Molaodi ‘Danger’ Tlhalefang who scored the second goal for GU. Despite proving to be an instrumental player for Moyagoleele, 'Piro' feels that Ramogapi has a lot of work to do before he becomes a regular.

He, however, acknowledged the immense talent the young midfielder possesses and how he has been vital each time he is brought in.

“I have started him (Ramogapi) in a few games one against Prison XI, but he is a young boy. He is coming up and growing up, so he still needs to be protected,” he said. “But so far the boy is really good, very top football intelligence you could ever get from a football player. You know he does the job for me when he comes more off the bench because he raises the game and we end up getting the results,” Moloi said.
