Ramoreboli recently guided Galaxy to the Botswana Premier League (BPL) and Orange FA Cup triumphs. The Bloemfontein-born mentor was winning the league title for the second time in three years, while he also guided Galaxy to the CAF Champions League top eight as the team reached the group stages of Africa's elite club competition. Ramoreboli's exploits locally have attracted interest from his native South Africa. He was initially linked with the South Africa Under-23 national team head coach role and also the assistant coach role at South African giants, Kaizer Chiefs, who are undergoing technical team changes. Ramoreboli also caught the eye of Sekhukhune United. The Limpopo-based side will be competing in the CAF Confederation Cup and reportedly saw Ramoreboli as the perfect fit for their ambitions. 'Babina Noko' as Sekhukhune is affectionately known, had enlisted Fernando da Cruz but the French tactician is said to have secured a move to Chiefs.
The team turned to Ramoreboli but the South African public broadcaster, SABC Sport, has since reported that Ramoreboli appears to be uncertain of a move. "This project needs someone who understands it and who can take it further. I am still here, and yes, my agent and the club are still negotiating. We will know very soon what is going to happen," Ramoreboli was quoted by SABC Sport. Galaxy spokesperson, Tankiso Morake, said they are still negotiating with Ramoreboli. "Negotiations are ongoing. We will get back to you as soon as they are done," Morake said. This publication is informed that Galaxy are expecting the coach's return in two weeks as the team will have an early pre-season due to their involvement in the CAF Champions League.
"The coach is a very reasonable man. I must say he is clear on what we want and what he does not want. He is the type of person who is vocal and clear on what he wants. So we would have known if he wanted to leave Galaxy. He is currently back home on holiday and the team expects his return in two weeks," a source said. Ramoreboli has three titles to his name since joining Galaxy in 2021. The 43-year-old extended his contract with the club by 12 months ahead of the start of the 2023-2024 season and the two camps are said to be negotiating a new deal.
