Softball squad for World Cup qualifies released

The Botswana Softball Association (BSA) has released the final list of the senior women’s softball team that will play in the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Africa qualifiers to be held in Gaborone next week (February 6-10).

The continental qualifiers will see Botswana battle it out against Lesotho, South Africa, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and Zimbabwe. Only two teams will proceed to the next stage of the tournament to be played in

Europe in July.

The 16 member squad comprises of the following: Pitchers: Gotlamang Sixpence, Onnetse Ribbin and Wangu Gondo. Catchers: Magdeline Mmapitsa and Bafedile Dube. Infield: Tuna Passman, Onkokame Thakoyakgomo, Otsile Moshabe, Kedibonye Mogatusi, Charity Isaac and Lereng Mokgotlhe, Outfield: Maitumelo Serumola, Bonolo Molefhe, Keletso Mogale, Lesego

Rankwaila and Tina Kagiso.

Alternatives: Kesego Segwe (infield) and Ndapiwa Mothakaja (catcher).
