Mochudi Centre Chiefs chairperson, Victor Kobe has confirmed the club has penned a 15-year management deal with a sporting consortium led by former Bafana Bafana player, Stanton Fredericks.
The consortium is called Stanton Fredericks Sports Group and will be the 100% shareholder stake of the Kgatleng giants for the next 15 years. Speaking to MmegiSport, Kobe said Stanton Fredericks Sports Group proved the best pick from a cohort of entities that showed interest in joining the much-followed Magosi.
"Of course, there were a lot of companies but we wanted a partner that can elevate us to much greater heights. Money is not that important. We were looking to partner with people who have football experience and have played at the highest level such as the World Cup. The administrative experience also. The model we have with our new partners aligns well with the playing licence. They also align well with our vision and dream, we did not want a partner that will just pour money into the club," said Kobe.
He further said the club offices will move to Gaborone from Mochudi whilst the team will temporarily hold its training sessions at Lekidi Football Grounds. The Stanton Fredericks Sports Group takes over from the Prestige Funeral Parlour, which has terminated its one-year partnership with Chiefs just six months into the deal. The new Chiefs' leadership arrived in the country at lunchtime on Wednesday. The delegation alongside the Chiefs' executive committee visited some of the partners including Ingram's Botswana and JB and they would return to South Africa this afternoon.
