The Zebras legends defeated Bafana Bafana legends 3-2 in a thrilling friendly encounter that formed part of Botswana’s Independence Day celebrations.

Tebogo who has been celebrated and honoured across the country since his record breaking Olympic Gold win, sat alongside the likes of Spokes Gaborone as coaches for Zebras legends. The decision to include him in the team took multitudes of fans who came to watch the game by a pleasant surprise. After leading the Zebras legends to a famous victory, Tebogo also received a pleasant surprise when Bafana Bafana legend, Doctor Khumalo awarded him his jersey after the match. Tebogo also gifted the former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder his Olympic jacket.

Speaking to journalists after the game, Tebogo said they are happy with the performance. He said during the halftime break they decided to introduce fresh legs, which worked wonders towards the end of the game. Meanwhile former Mares captain, Bonang ‘Bebeto’ Mosetlha also made history as the only woman player in the Zebras legends team. Mosetlha started the game in the middle of the park and played relatively well until she was substituted at halftime.
