The tournament started on Monday and the final will be played tomorrow. If he wins the tournament, Seetso will climb up the ITF Junior rankings where he is currently ranked 343, down from 298 in April.
The 17-year-old played his first-round match against South Africa's Daniel Krige winning 6-1,6-0. The win set up a clash against Aleksandar Simovski of South Africa in the second round, which Seetso won 3-6,6-1,6-4. The second round victory pitted him against Christof Schaertlin Coffey of Switzerland in the quarterfinals where he won the match 6-3,6-1.
On Thursday, he then beat Kyle Erwee of South Africa 6-4,6-2 in the semi-final to book a place in tomorrow's final. He will meet South African Rohan Loubser who beat compatriot Yarona Morule in the other semi-final yesterday afternoon. Seetso's coach, Phenyo Matong said the player was fully focused on the Pretoria tour. "He is chasing rankings at this point and understands that they put him in a much better position in the coming bigger tournaments," Matong said. He added that they want to build on Seetso's game and get him exposed on the international stage as much as possible. Seetso's ranking had declined recently where he slipped from 298 in April to his current 343 and will be eager to reverse the slide.
After team Botswana failed to qualify for the European tour, the Junior Billy Jean and the Davis Cup, Seetso has gone on to chase individual success.
