The Zebras have been knocked out of the COSAFA Cup tournament.

The zebras were kicked out of the tournament following a 3- 1 defeat against Mozambique's Mambas following a group A tie this afternoon.

Botswana started its campaign with a 0-0 draw against Eswatini, before a similar result against Bafana Bafana on Saturday. Botswana opened the scoring but were dealt a blow when midfielder Olebogeng Ramotse was dismissed following a second booking. The Mambas took advantage and equalised just before the halftime break. They scored two second half goals to put game to bed and beyond’s Zebras reach.

“We were playing good (football) first half, we deserved to lead for the first half unfortunately we took a red card, I am not sure we deserved the red card but we accept the referees decision. We had the opportunity to qualify but football is football, sometimes the better team loses,” the Zebras coach said during a post-match interview.

In the other game in Group A, South Africa faced Eswatini and won by a goal to nil.

The semi-finals are on Friday, with the third-place and final matches taking place on Sunday
