Tshepiso 'Sox' Molwantwa and Pontsho Moloi reminded football fans of the good old times when they scored two cracking goals in the second half to seal a 3-2 victory for Botswana legends over their South African counterparts.

The match was part of the country’s Independence Day celebrations.

The match was seemingly headed for a penalty shootout, but Zebras stole the victory in the dying minutes of the encounter with a brilliant movement. Moloi who scored Zebras equaliser in the second half, turned a provider when he delivered a pinpoint cross to Molwantwa. The latter beat South African goalkeeper with a powerful diving header to send the National Stadium into raptures. The Zebras had taken an early lead in the first half through Itumeleng Duiker before South Africa responded with two goals from George Lebese before half time. Among those that started the game on the side of Botswana were Diphetogo Selolwane, Joel Mogorosi, Scara Kebalepile and Phenyo Mongala. South Africa on the other hand started with the likes of Doctor Khumalo, Themba Mguni, Lebese and Mthokozise Yende. In the second half, Zebras threw in the likes of Molwantwa, Michael Mogaladi, Mmoloki ‘BB’ Sechele while South Africa introduced Delron Buckley and Jerry Skhosana among others.

The players from both sides proved they still have it in their feet with Kebalepile in particular, doing the showboating most of the time, much to the entertainment of the fans in the stands. Lebese and Khumalo also showcased some brilliant skills, which made them household names in South Africa. In the end, the Zebras legends prevailed over their South African opponents.
